FACTORIES IN AUSTRALIA. WAGES PAYMENTS INCREASED. I s (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 11.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. "The Sydney Morning Herald" says it is estimated that factories in Australia are employing 5,000,000 workers which is 50,000 more than in the best years before the depression. Three years ago nearly one-third of the factory operatives in the Commonwealth were unemployed. There has been an industrial revival since 193132. Wages and salaries paid by factories have increased from £56,000,000 in 1931-32 to £73,000,000 in 1934-35.
