ASHBURTON COUNTY COUNCIL PURSUANT to Section 27 of "The Counties Act, 1920," NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the above Council, held on Friday, the twentieth day of December, 1935, a resolution was passed by way of Special Order merging the Coldstream Road District in the County of Ashburton, and abolishing the Board thereof. This resolution will be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held at the Council Chambers, Baring Square, Ashburton, on FRIDAY, the seventh day of February, 1936. A copy of the proposed Special Order is deposited at the Council Chambers, Baring Square, Ashburton, and will be open for inspection of the Public during office hours up to 4 p.m. on THURSDAY, the sixth day of February, 1936. FREE TRANSPORT OF LIME. FARMERS who are being rung up ' and threatened with penalties regarding; railage on LIME will be interested to know that the railway statement for year ending March 31, 1935, states that the revenue received by Railway Department for the year amounted to 7/4 per ton for an average haul of 66 miles. The tariff rate for Lime is 7/1 per ton for 66 miles REMEMBER.—If the Department is successful in collecting from you they are presumably being paid twice.
