The Bank of Australasia has received the following-cablegram, dated January 1, from its London office: — "Frozen lambs: Before the Christmas holidays there was a fair demand for the time of year, mostly for Australian. New Zealand new season's is now arriving in increased quantities, but owing to the comparatively high prices the demand is limited, and the market shows signs of getting weaker. Frozen mutton: Wethers: Supplies are limited and prices steady, although the demand has been poor. Ewes are meeting with more inquiries, and prices arc firmer. The frozen beef trade is better, and the market is steady." DAIRY PRODUCE.

IMPROVED PRICES. The New Zealand Dairy Board has received the following market report from its London office dated January 3:— Butter. New Zealand—Salted 98s to 100 s (last week 89s to 925), equals approximately 11.63 d f.o.b; unsalted 102 s to 104 s '(9B-lOOc). Australian—Salted 98s to 995, unsalted 100 s to 102 s. Market firm. New Zealand retail price reduced to Is. Danish—lo7a f.0.b., 128 s spot. Argentine—Unsalted 94s to 98s. Dutch—Unsalted 92s to 107 s. Market firm. Danish retail price unchanged at Is 3d. Cheese. New Zealand—White 57s 6d, 58s (55s 6d, 565), equals approx. 638 d f.0.b.; coloured 61s 6d to 62s (60s) approx. 6.88 d f.o.b. Australian—White 54a to 565; coloured 57s to 595. Market firm.
