The Canterbury iPark Trotting Club’s summer meeting was concluded at Addington yesterday, and the attendance was good for what is generally regarded as an “off” day. The totalisator staff handled £22,301 10s, against £18,152 10s on the corresponding day last year, making a total for the meeting of £48,368, as compared with £36,326 10s invested 12 months ago, an increase of £12,041 10s for the two> days’ racing. The Marton Jockey Club’s summer meeting concluded to-day in perfect weatlier. Too attendance was excellent. Most interest was taken in the Duke of Gloucester Cup, competed lor ior the first time in New Zealand, the winner being Hoyal Papa, owned by P. Holman, of bedding, and ridden by W. Duncan. The tropfiy was presented by Mr Janies McLeod (president of the Racing Conference), and tlie Hon. W. Nash also spoke. The totalisator handled £10,497, compared with £6554 on the second day in 1934.
