FURTHER INCREASES.
THE TOTALISATOR FIGURES. The increase in the totalisator returns on Boxing Day was maintained yesterday, when one racing and two trotting meetings were held. At the Auckland Trotting Club’s fixture, the first of a three-day meeting, the investments totalled £34,884, compared with £30,789 on the first day last year, an increase of £4095. At the Manawatu club’s meeting the receipts for the two days increased £5626 10s by comparison with the figures for last year, and at Westport, for the two days, the investments amounted to £10,563, an increase of £1667. The totalisator figures for all the meetings in the Dominion on Boxing Day and yesterday show an increase of more than £26,000 by comparison with the corresponding figures for last year This year £245,867 10s has been invested. Last year the. amount was £219,475. Details of the amounts invested this year and last year are shown in the following table: —
