THE PREMIER.
TO PREPARE FOR THE SESSION. Oker Press Association). AUCKLAND, December 27. The Prime Minister (the Hon. AI. J. (savage) will leave Auckland on January 5 for Wellington, where he will lie engaged with other members of his Cabinet in shaping the Government’s legislative programme for the first session ''of the new Parliament, which is expected to open in February. Air Savage will probably take up his residence more or less permanently in Wellington. Air Savage said that when the Cabinet resumed its meetings on January 8 several days would probably be spent in a full discussion of problems which demanded immediate attention. Legislative proposals for their solution would be formulated as soon as possible and placed in the hands of law draughtsmen, so that there would be no lack of business for the attention of the House of Representatives at the opening of the session. The Prime Minister has not had an opportunity for a complete holiday rest over the Christmas season. He has been receiving callers almost daily, and in addition, has been, attending to a fairly large volume of official business.
