NO REOPENING OF QUESTION. STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER. (Per Press Association). HAMILTON, December 23. An assurance that the Government had no intention of reopening the question of lifting the embargo on imported. stock xvas given by the Minister for Agriculture (the Hon. AA r . LeeMaitiu), when speaking at a dinner tendered to him by the Farmers’ Union at Hamilton on Saturday evening. . Mr Lee Martin said that the opinion obtained from the farmers of New Zealand was so difficult that no good purpose Avould be served by reopening t io question.
