KNOCKED DOWNI BY MOTOR-CAR. ACCIDENT ON TR’AFFIO BRIDGE. The condition of Muriel Marsden, who was admitted to the Ashburton Public Hospital yesterday afternoon suffering from concussion after a motor accident, is reported to show some improvement to-day. She was struck by a car driven by Air D. A. Smith, of Kermodo Street, after she ran out from the side of the Ashburton traffic bridge. When the car was brought to a standstill she was found underneath. She is a daughter of Mr C. F. Marsden, of Tailored Street, Ashburton.

Mrs Kearsley, aged 42, who was in the side-car, was thrown heavily, and died in halfan hour. Mr Kearsley was admitted to the Thornes Hospital where he is still unconscious. WOMAN’S FATAL FALL. DUNEDIN, December 23. Mrs Helen Rackley, aged 67, who was admitted to hospital on Saturday evening suffering from severe injuries to her head, died this afternoon. She fell from a chair when cleaning windows at her home at 'St. Kilda.
