METHVEN TROTTING CLUB A meeting of the committee of the Methven_Trotting Club was presided over by Mr T. S. Harrison. Others present were S. G. Holmes, H. Green, F. S. McDonald, 0. Goodwin, A. E. Henderson, J. t McCloy, T. Ross, G. Kelly, S. Richards, Rt. Millar and J. Campbell. It was decided to grant the Methven Agricultural and Pastoral Association three guineas toward the special prize funds. Messrs Holmes, Richards, Green and the secretary were appointed to go through the list of overdue subscriptions with a view to collecting same. It was decided to apply for the use of the Road Board’s grader to grade the training track. After an inspection of the racecourse it was decided to replace two further decks of the main stand and generally repair any of the seating accommodation and cover the whole floor with malthoid. It was also decided to paint the new stand and to reinforce the new stable against wind. THE KENSINGTON MEETING. COCKPEN’S SUCCESS. SYDNEY, December 23. At the Kensington races to-day the following was the result of the Kensington. Handicap—Cockpen 8.5 (Munro) 1, Melba Eaton ,7.2 2, Salted Almond 6.9 3. Eight started; including Limbohm, which, although badly left at the post, finished close up. Time, 2.10. Moneta was unplaced in the first division of the Fourteen-two Handicap. Headmaster was unplaced in the second division of the Flying Handicap.
