THE ASHBURTON ASSOCIATION. A SUCCESSFUL YEAR, J' The Ashburton Girl Guide Association held its annual meeting afternoon, the president (Mrs F. W. Seldon) presiding. The annual report reviewed a successful year, making mention of the camp held at Staveley. The departure for Christchurch of Miss I. Hillier was a loss to the Association, and regret was also expressed at the resignation from the committee of Mrs E. J. Wood on account of ill-health. A bridge drive had realised £5 10& for the funds of the Association. The balance-sheet, disclosed a credit of £lO 6s Id, compared with one of £l3 12s 7d last year. The following officers were elected: President, Mrs F. W. Seldon; vicepresidents, Mesdames Trevor, E. B. Newton, 11. S, Billcliff, H. Stephenson, and J. H. Grigg; secretary and treasurer, Miss E. Pattle ; committee, Mesdames W. R, Kyburn, C. M. Innes, G. I. Miller, W. H. Woods, L. J. Watt, E. A. Oockroft, J. R, Wells and Miss E. Cameron.
