A week before the cattle left quarantine they were inspected by the Royal Show judge (Mr A. J. Tanner, of Sydney, New South' Wales) who 1 stated that New Zealand breeders were to be complimented on their enterprise in importing such a high-class lot of beef cattle.' He also expressed; the opinion that had they been shown at the Royal Show they would have won many of the leading honours. Mr Tanner added that they would, be a great asset to the herds of the Dominion. A Second Shipment. A further fourteen head of cattle imported in. the same shipment and comprising eight Aberdeen Angus and six Polled Herefords were released from Motuihi quarantine station at Auckland on November 5.
