The Tokio correspondent of the- “ Daily Telegraph” reports a fresh outrage at Shanghai, where a ; gang iCdestroyed a Japanese porcelain shop. _ This has startled the Foreign Office and has dashed the hopes of,the re- , taxation of the existing tension/' ‘ V It is believed that there is a-eon- -.'a neetion between the two outrages and other repent events. These are regarded as a deliberate effort, to em-r ' broil China and Japan, . ]■■■ .. j The “News - Chronicle”;quotes the assurance of the Tokio Foreign Office spokesman that Japan is contemplating an amicable settlement of the - • Shanghai murder incident, but says, however/- that it ,is understood; that r ; Japan will reject 1 any i; proposal for a" loan to China, because the currency 7 reform was effected without consulting , Japan. .. . / y A message yesterday said that the tension caused by the murder of- ft y-,u Japanese marine, allegedly by .a Chinese civilian, was slightly easier.
