ST. JAMES THEATRE. A successful picture of any kind demands, first and foremost, capable artists, musical comedy no less than drama. An examination of all the great musical film successes reveals that the cast of each of them was headed by one or several brilliant stars. It *is this fact also that helps to make “Dance Band,” showing at the St. James Theatre finally to-night, such a brilliant success. At the head o>f the cast is Buddy Rogers, who made such, a decided'hit in , a series of Hollywood musical films some years ago. In “Dance Band” lie gives a dashing performance, and proves himself most versatile. He directs a dance hand with rare pep, plays nearly every instrument, croons pleasantly'.

MAJESTIC THEATRE.. “People Will Talk,” the Paramount picture which shows finally to-niglit at the Majestic Theatre, brings Charlie Ruggles and Mary Roland back to the screen in one of the pleasantest and funniest pictures they have ever made —a picture that runs the whole gamut of laughter from out-and-out burlesque to subtle and amusing farce. Set in a suburban community, “People Will Talk” tells of Ruggles’ and Miss Boland’s attempt to straighten out tlie marital affairs of their daughter and son-in-law by staging a mock battle royal themselves, with the idea of showing the younger couple liow silly it is.

TINWALD BUSY BEES. The Timvald Busy Bees celebrated their second birthday, party recent Ij. The Rev. D. D. MacLachlan, who presided, explained the work of tho Busy Bee movement. Tho honey the Bees had made during the year was displayed, and will be sent to tho Maoii children for Christmas. The programme was as follows Choruses by all the Bees; duet and chorus, Mary Watson, Maisie Skilling, and Bees; quartet, Thelma Henderson, Frances Brunton, Jean Robertson, Mary Watson; solo, Thelma Henderson ; recitations, F iorence Watson, Audrey Watson, Monica Skilling, • Noeline Skilling, IN game Coates, and David Watson; play; Thomas Haar, Mary Watson, dean Robertson, Ngaire Coates, Maisie Skilling and all the Bees. A collection was taken up, the result showing the interest taken in the Busy Bees. Supper was served. The candles on the birthday cake were lit by the Queen Bee (Jean Robertson) and were blown out by the Baby Bee (Florence Watson). While the candles burned the Busy Bees sang “Jesus Bids Us Shine.”
