LOOTED GOODS RECOVERED.
ABYSSINIAN CARAVAN ATTACKED ROUTED BY BAYONET CHARGE. (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) ASMARA, November 11. The Italian troops recovered the bulk of the goods looted by the Abyssinians from Gougsa’s house at Makale, a quantity of which were recaptured from a caravan near Betmariam whose 50 guards were routed by Italian and native levies. The capture was the result of smart work by a reconnaissance aeroplane. The aviator parachuted a message to an askan (native) column, disclosing the whereabouts of the looters The askans made a forced march during the night and intercepted the caravan, whose defenders, though entrenching themselves on the hills, were shaken by a bayonet charge and routed by a second rush from the reserve line. Ihe Abyssinians lost 20 killed and 10 were taken prisoner, besides 300 camels lqden with agricultural goods other supplies.
