BOILER EXPLODES
FIRE IN ITALIAN SHIP.
FOUR KILLED; 12 INJURED.
RESCUE BY BRITISH SHIPS. (United Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) ■ ALEXANDRIA, October 18. While the Italian steamship Ausonia was in the outer harbour a boiler exploded. Fire spread to all parts of the ship. British naval picket boats took off the passengers and assisted to light the flames. , The Ausonia continues to blaze furiously.

An Alexandria, message states that sailors from ELM.S'. Queen Elizabeth, Valiant, Revenge, and 'Shropshire took off the Ausonia’s passengers in picket boats. Four of the crew were killed and about a dozen seriously injured. It is feared that the vessel is a total loss.
The highest tributes have been paid by the Ausonia’s officers to the magnificent work of the bluejackets froiß British warships in rescuing the passengers and crew.—British Official Wireless.
