TO PLAY LEAGUE AT HOME JACK McDONALD’ft DECISION. BLENHEIM, October 7. Jack McDonald) Marlborough and New Zealand Maori Rugby footballer, has accepted an invitation to play League football in England. He will leave New Zealand by the Remuera on October 26. McDonald 1 is one of, the province’s outstanding athletes. In addition to the tour of England with the Maori team in 1926 he represented New Zealand as an oarsman in the Empire Games in London in 1930, and at the Olympic Games at Los Angeles in 1922. He was vice-captain of this year’s Maori team in Australia. LEAVING FOR ENGLAND. WESTPORT, October 7. Eddie Holder, the Buffer, South Island and New Zealand Rugby representative, who was accorded a farewell by citizens of the Westport district, and various sports bodies, received numerous presentations, including a. well-, filled wallet.
He left to-day for Auckland en route to Britain to play League football.
