WAIMATE TO CHRISTCHURCH.

BIG EVENT TO-MORROW. The annual road race from Waimate to Christchurch will be held to-morrow. The first of the riders to- reach Ashburton should appear about 12.30 o’clock. . A check and milk station will be established near the Ashburton traffic bridge under the control of Mr L. S. Hopkins, the principal officials being: Stewards, Messrs L. Arnst, J. Reid, A. C. Wakelin, E. C. Baker, A. Moore, and H. Holland; check steward, Mr C. V. Fur by; timekeepers, Messrs W. Brown, G. Horton and N. Robilliard; ambulance, Messrs W. C. J. Osman and A. T. Smith.
