A SEVERN BRIDGE
BIG UNDERTAKING PLANNED. United Press Association—Copyright) ‘ LONDON, September 29. A conference of local authorities at Gloucester yesterday approved the construction of a bridge over the Severn River. It is calculated that the bridge which is estimated to cost £2,840,000, will effect a saving of ,54 miles between Bristol and Cardiff. The scheme under discussion provides for a bridge two and one-eighth miles long, with a span of about 1400 feet over the navigation channel of the river, carrying a 30-foot carriage-way and two six foot footpaths.
