GIRLS REBUKED IN CHURCH. Two girls were publicly rebuked by the Rev. Roderick Mackenzie in St. Jude’s Free Presbyterian Church, Glasgow, last month. . St. Jude’s is the largest branch of the Church which, has suspended the Provost of Dornoch for permitting dancing in hi 3 house at Christmas. Mr Mackenzie was attacking “worldly amusements” when ho suddenly stopped. Then, with arm outstretched, pointing accusingly to the gallery, he said:—

“Why are these two women in the back seat of the gallery attending this church to-night? They are certainly not paying the slightest attention to God’s word. To judge from their painted lips, they enjoy themselves through the week andi attend church on Sunday to escape the wrath of God in Hell.
