FORTUNATE ESCAPE
FALL DOWN 600 FEET OF ICE.
ACCIDENT IN THE TARARUAS.
(Per Press Association.) LEVIN, This Day. Missing his footing and slipping 000 feet down the surface of an ice-capped peak, Mr G. Urqubart who with Messrs R. Webb and A. Coles was on a trip in the Tararuas, had a fortunate escape from serious injury. The accident occurred on the summit of Mount Dundas. When his companions reached him, Mr Urqubart was found to be suffering from abrasions to his hands, a sprained! ankle- and severe shock. He was later brought in to Levin.
