ALBERTA FINANCE
THE SOCIAL CREDIT POLICY.
PROSPERITY BONDS ISSUE.
DEAN OF CANTERBURY’S SUPPORT.
(United Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.10 p.m.) MONTREAL, Sept. 24.
Because the Very Rev. Dr. Hewlett Johnston (Dean of Canterbury, England), has. “apparently identified himself with a political party,” the Most Rev. Dr. Ralph Sherman (Anglican Bishop of Calgary), refused to take the chair at Dr. Johnston’s social credit meeting on Saturday. In an interview in Winnipeg yesterday, the Dean said he was in complete accord with Mr Aberhart’s policy, and predicted that the Aberhart party will eventually sweep all Canada.
An Edmonton message states that Mr Aberhart announced the issue of an unspecified amount of prosperity bonds at an unspecified rate of interest, to be sold to residents of Alberta to pay off outside bond debts.
