VALUELESS CHEQUES ISSUED. (Per Press Association). September 23. James Ogden Alexander, who left a trail of valueless cheques from Invercargill to Dargaville, obtaining £BB in cash and goods valued at £6O, pleaded guilty in the Auckland Magistrate’s Court to 38 charges. The police said the accused had admitted he had had a good time, and had no regrets. He was pleased to be arrested, as the matter had been worrying him. He was remanded till to-morrow for sentence.
