The ship’s cfirpenter was seriously injured. \ . Mrs A. McKeller, of New Zealand,' said that the passengers were, dining when a great volume of water rushed down the stairway and swilled about their feet. Women screamed and there was a rush for the deck. f '
Other passengers spoke of the plight of the women and l children in the cabins, where they were found in drenched night attire. Many suffered from shock.
