OBITUARY
MR THOMAS HOWDEN. Mr Thomas Howden, whose death at the age of 71 occurred at the Timaru Hospital, was an old and respected resident of the Temuka district. He was a native of Lincolnshire, England, and with his wife, came to New Zealand 1 in 1895 and settled at Ruapuna. After a successful period of farming he retired and went to live at Temuka. About 12 years ago he was laid aside by illness, which resulted in hjs becoming practically an invalid for nine years. His wife died about two years ago. Mr Howden is survived by two daughters t Mrs J. Hopkinson (Temuka), and Miss Howden.
