Attempting, to win a prize of £4OO for an unbroken man-power flight of 550 yards, Herr. Duennbel yesterday covered 210 yards at Firankfort-on-Main. To-day he covered 250 yards at a height of three feet, using a glider! fitted with a propeller driven by the; pilot pedalling. During a third flight his glider Was damaged.
‘ All the flights w'ere made under official control by the Air Ministry.
The flights are believed to be the first ever made with man-power.
