THE ASHBURTON PLAYERS. In a letter to the “Guardian” written last evening, Mr S. G. Macfarlane, who is in Wellington during the Dominion basketball tournament, states that the Ashburton players are all in good fettle. There have been two minor injuries, to Mrs Holland and 1 Miss McMillan, but no change in the team is necessary. The weather has been gloriously fine but the wind interfered a little with play yesterday. So far Ashburton had won all its games, that is, four out of the six which it has to play. It will thus probably he the section finalist. Speaking of the New Zealand Reflenees’ Association, Mr Macfarlane, who is president, says that its chief task lias been the triennial revision of the rule book for re-printing.
