KING NOT SERIOUSLY INJURED.

NO CAUSE FOR ANXIETY

NOW SUFFERING FROM SHOCK

(Received This Day. 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, August 29. News of the death of Queen Astrid deeply shocked public opinion. The Belgian King and Queen were returning from a mountaineering holiday and had just left their villa outside Lucerne, which is one of the summer residences of the Royal Family. The King had relieved the chauffeur at the wheel of the car. The cause of the accident is not known. The Queen and King were both thrown from the car. The King’s injuries are not serious and his condition does not give cause for anxiety. The chauffeur and a lady-in-waiting the other occupants of the car, were not seriously hurt. The Queen’s body is being taken to Brussels to-night. If lie has recovered sufficiently to travel. King Leopold, who is suffering from shock mid has not yet been able to give an account of the accident, will accompany it. — British Official Wireless.
