LINE NOT DAMAGED
THE MAIN TRUNK SLIP.
TRAINS ARRIVE ON SCHEDULE.
(Per Press Association.) TAUMAR ONUI, This Day. Since 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon all trains on the Main Trunk line have passed the danger point at the slip without delay, arriving at Taumiarumu on schedule. After removal of the pumice, the lino was found to be intact and there was no subsidence. The slip made a large cavity in the bank and there should be little danger of another fall if the water is drained away.
Mr Caskey, the injured ganger, is still in hospital with no serious development. He is still suffering a little from bruises and shock.
