STATION CLOSES
RADIO 1ZH 3 HAMILTON. (Per Press Association). HAMILTON, August 10. Radio station IZH, Hamilton, signed off for the last time this morning. Through the loss of the Government subsidy in June, and the uncertain position engendered by the copyrigh claims of the gramophone record companies, the proprietors, G. S. Anchor and Company, decided to cease transmission this jiiorning. Although tlie step had been threatened for some weeks, the decision, when announced by the station director, Mr G. S. Anchor, this morning, came as a surprise to hundreds of listeners throughout the Waikato.
