MELBOURNE, July 81. At the. Ascot races the following was the result of the

Ovens Trial Handicap (first division) —Royal Hunting 9.7 (Skidmore) 1, Equerry 8.0 (Voitre) 2, Chatterer 8.5 (Gann) 3. Fourteen started. Won by three lengths; five lengths between second and third. Time, 1.16 J. First Money was unplaced in the Maiden Hurdle, and Night Club was unplaced in the first division of the Sandhurst Handicap. Gay Circle, ridden ,by W. Jenkins, was second in the second division. Jenkins also rode In the Air, winner of the Sassafras Handicap. THE KENSINGTON MEETING. SYDNEY, July 31. At the Kensington races Grand Duke was unplaced in the Flying Welter. Tea Fight was unplaced in the Dunnerong Welter Mile. Moneta was second in the Fourteen-Two Handicap.
