NO SETTLEMENT
AUCKLAND SHIPWRIGHTS’ DEMANDS.
(Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, July 30. There was no development toward the settling of the dispute between the employers and the workers in the boat-building trade to-day. Most- of the members of the Auckland S 1 ? Yacht, and Boatbuilders’ Union have not resumed work. A meeting o union was held, but in the absence of a communication from the employ , it was decided to adhere to the decision not to resume work until tne demand for a uniform rate of 2s 2fd aii hour and several minor demands regarding meal time, dirty woik, an overtime had been granted. _ Of 98 members of the union, about 14 are working. Firms which employ 10 of them have agreed to higher rates of pay, and four men are continning work at the lower rates.
