In the presence*-of his wife, parents, and a large assembly, George Collins, the British gliding champion, was killed at Huntingdonshire.
According to an eye-witness, he had looped twice when a ring dropped off and the glider crashed. Collins, who was 27 years of age, last year flew 95 miles in 265 minutes.
TWO 'PLANES CRASH IN FLAMES.
FIVE FINNS KILLED. (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) HELSINGFORS, July 30. Two military ’planes collided at the height of 1000 feet and fell in flames. Five of the occupants were killed, two being saved by parachutes.
