THE MAORIS’ MATCH TO-DAY.
GROUND LIKELY TO BE HARD.-
(Received 1 This Day, 12.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The weather for the football, match, Maoris versus New South Wales, to-day is fine. No rain has fallen in the last
week, and the ground is likely to be hard. , Mr Wallace (manager of the team; expects the Maoris to-day to play their best game to date. He says that every one lias completely recovered from the effects of influenza, and the players have not looked better at any time since their arrival in Australia. The general opinion in the city is that the game is likely to be close, though many, anticipate an improvement in the Maori forwards’ play that will enable them to win Their "backs have already proved themselves.
