ANOTHER £lo,ooo RACE

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN PLAN.

CENTENARY NEXT YEAR

MELBOURNE, July 13

Another air dash to Australia is likely next year, when the South Australian Centenary Committee hopes to promote a race for prize-money equalling that offered in the Centenary air race last year. Mr T. S. Nettleford, chairman of the Melbourne Centenary Council Finance Executive, who returned to Melbourne to-day after consulting with the South Australian officials said that people in the latter State were very enthusiastic.

A suggestion that four wealthy South Australians he asked to give £IO,OOO toward the prize fund had been made by Mr Nettleford. An alternative proposal was that a public subscription list be opened. The race will probably take the same route as last year’s contest, and will finish at Parafield.
