LIQUOR AT MILITARY BALL. (Per Press Association). DANNEVIRKF, July 25.M embers of the committee of a. military ball held recently at Dannevirke were charged in the, Magistrate’s Court, before Mr J. L. Stout, with selL ing beer and wine without being licensed to do so. The defendants were two officers and others, non-commis-sioned officers. The facts briefly are that liquor was bought by the defendants and served as refreshments at the dance, without charge to the patrons, who had paid for admission. It was stated that the liquor was dispensed to popularise the dance. The defendants pleaded guilty and each was fined £l, with costs 11s.
