SIXTY SUBMARINES
SOVIET EXPANDS FLEET.
INCREASE IN FOUR YEARS. (United Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, July 24. The naval correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says he has learned authoritatively that Russia last month laid the keel of her 60th submarine, and orders have been plaeec for 10 more. The majority are of 800 tons, with a speed of 23 knots and a radius of 7000 miles. They are armed with one 4-inch gun and 10 torpedotubes. The correspondent says that tour years ago Russia had only 15 submarines, most of which were obsolete. Russia is also building cruisers and destroyers, and is modernising two old battleships.
