CHARGES DISMISSED
SEQUEL TO A FATALITY. (Special to the “Guardian.”) , TIMARU, July 24. Mr Justice Northcroft presided at the Supreme Court in Timaru to-day, when the hearing of the charges preferred against James Colquhoun Kay were continued. Kay was-charged with having on November 16, at Esk Valley, negligent- ' ly driven a motor vehicle thereby causing “the death of Thomas Watson Waite, with having negligently driven such a vehicle, thereby causing bodily injury to Waite, and with having negligently driven such a vehicle, thereby causing bodily injury to Stanley Stocker. After counsels’ addresses, the juiy retired at .11.20 a.m., and returned at 2.46 p.m., with a verdict of not guilty on each of the three counts. The accused was discharged from custody.
