PRIVILEGE OF JURY

PRESENTMENT TO THE COURT. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 22. Satisfaction at the comparatively light calendar and the absence of serious crimes was expressed by the Chief Justice . (Sir Michael Myers) when opening the crinfinal sessions to-day. There are eight indictments against nine persons. The Chief Justice reminded the Grand Jury that it could make presentments to the Court on any case if it deserved. He said that this was a privilege w'hich had not been greatly availed of in recent years. He thought it should be recognised that such a valuable privilege existed.
