. ASHBURTON STOCK MARKET. . f A SMALL YARDING TO-DAY PRICES ADVANCE UiP TO 2s. Owing to the small yarding of fat sheep at the Ashburton saleyards today, prices at the weekly stock market showed an advance of up to 2s a head, compared with those ruling at the Tinwald sale last week. The shortage was particularly marked in the ewe section while the entity of fat wethers was better than for some considerable time. To-day’s entry of fat sheep was of fair average quality. Fat ewes made up to 23s 3d, a client selling one at this price. Mr J., McDonald (Seafield) disposed of 5 at 19s Id and Bat 18s 4d. Mi’ L. Hanrahan Senr. (Dromore) also made 18s 4d for 7. The best fat wether price was 27s 7d for four from Mr G. Hoatten (Elgin). A client sold one at 26s 9d and sales at 26s 4d were made by Mr Hoatten and Mr John MeCosker (Riverside). THE LONDON WOOL SALESNO CHANGE IN PRICES. (Received This Day, 9.50 a.m.) LONDON, July 22. At the wool sales 7320 bales were offered, including 3683 New Zealand. About 5852 were sold. There was keen comi>etition for crossbreds, chiefly from the 'H!ome trade. Other descriptions were quieter at unchanged prices. There were considerable withdrawals of inferior sorts, owing to high limits. New Zealand clips sold as follow: — Scoured merinos, Irishman’s Creek, up to 23-Jd, average 23d; greasy crossbred, Seafund, up to lid, average Bd. The market at Bradford is quietly steady.

WHEAT PRICES IN BRITAIN.
