TWO STOWAWAYS
LANDED IN POLICE LAUNCH. (Per Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, This Day. When the steamer Gabriella left Greymouth. for Melbourne early this morning she carried two men who were not on the articles. Their presence was soon discovered and the vessel put back in the roadstead while a launch with police took the stowaways off’. BOTH OFFENDERS FINED. GREYMOUTH, This Day. George Shaw, aged 23, and Patrick Murphy, aged 24, pleaded guilty at the Court this morning on a. charge of secreting on the Gabriella. They were fined £3 each, in default seven days’ imprisonment.
