AUSTRALIA PLAYS ENGLAND. SUCCESS IN THE DOUBLES. (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, July 19. In the tennis match England versus Australia, at Eastbourne, in the doubles A. Quist gfcl D. P. Turnbull defeated G. P. Hughes and C. R. D. Tuekey, 3-G, 6-3, 8-6, 6-4. Turnbull was the best of the four. He served and smashed with savage accuracy. The Australians generally were superior in volleying and smashing. Tuekey, England’s new Davis Cup recruit, is playing much better with experience. He is serving powerfully, and. his ground strokes have improved.
