HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT.
The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated May 11, from the High , Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — Tallow—Stocks in hand small.
Hemp—Manila: Market steady; values unchanged. Sisal: Market firm; May-Julji shipment quoted buyers £lB 12s 6d; July-September shipment, £ls 17s 6d. New Zealand: Small business done in fair at £ls 10s; common, £l3 10s.
Fruit—Tuscan Star, Taranaki and Port Auckland armies in sound condition ; pears in variable condition. Apple market is steady. Current prices are: Cox's Orange, 10s to 15s; Granny Smith, 10s to 125,; Jonathan and Delicious, 9s to lis 6d ; Sturmer, 9s to lis; Cleopatra, 9s to 10s 6<*j Statesman, 8s to 10s j Dunn's Favourite and Ballarat, 8s 6d to 9s 6d! London Pippin, 8s 6d; Otago Cox's Orange, 12s 1 to ISs; Delicious, 10s to 12s; Jonathan, 9s to lis; Dunn's Favourite, 8s to 10s. Pears—Market is weaker owing to liberal supplies and variable condition. Current prices are:—Cornice, 10s to 14s ; Winter Nelis, 9s to lis; Beurre Bose and Conference, 8s to 10s; Winter Cole, Vicar <jf Wakefield, P. Barry and Packham's Triumph, 7s 6d to 10s;. Twyford Monarch,- Beurre Clairgeau, Keiffer and Beurre Diel, 7s to 8s; Otago Winter Nelis, 8s to lis; Winter Cole', 8s to 9s; Cornice, 10s to 12s.
Messrs J. Trevor Thomas and Co. have received cable advice from their London agents, under date May 11, as under: —

Now Zealand ewes, small, 2-£d, 3j|d; large, 2£d, 2fd. New Zealand beef, ox hinds, 3gd, 3|d; fores, 2£d, 2^d. Argentine chilled, ox hinds, s£d, 7d; fores, 3-id, 3£d. New Zealand pork, s£d, 6d. Australian lambs, sd, s§d; superfine qualit3 T , o£d, s£d. Argentine lambs, sd, s^d. Lambs: The market is steady. First grade light-weights are in better demand.
Wethers: There- is a little better demand. Ewes: The market is easier. Beef: There is a fair demand. Perk: Smaller supplies have caused prices to harden. Trade is affected by the jubilee holidays.
