INDIAN TEAM ARRIVES. RECEPTION AT WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, May 13. The Indian hockey team, which is to make a 10-wceks' 'tour of New Zealand, set foot in the Dominion to-day on their arrival at Wellington from Sydney. Among the official party which welcomed the visitors were Messrs H. S. J. Goodman (president of the New Zealand Hockey Association) and Mr W. H. Down (secretary). After greetings had been exchanged on the wharf, the visitors were given a reception at Government House. The team will visit Christchurch next month. A test match against New Zealand will be played at Lancaster Park on June 22. At the civic welcome the Mayor

made reference to the friendly attitude of the Rugby and Association football authorities in agreeing to postpone matches on June 1 to avoid clashing with the hockey match India v. Wellington . Mr Goodman (president of the New Zealand Hockey Association) also spoke, and the manager of the team (Mr B. Doctor) said that if the visit gave an impetus to the game in New Zealand the real object would be attained. They were more or less on a goodwill mission. The visitors were entertained at morning tea by the Government at Parliament House.
