NELSON JOCKEY CLUB. KORERO WINS REDWOOD MEMORIAL. (Per Press Association.) NELSON, May 13. The weather for the Nelson Jockey Club's second day was fine but overcast. The track was soft. The totalisatdr bandied £3872. Results:— Trial Stakes, of 50 sovs; six furlongs —1 Isaacs (Ridgway) 1,2 Cbpenna 2, 3 Arrowin 3. Won by two lengths; four lengths between second and third. Time, 1.18 3-5. Motueka Hack Handicap, cf 70 sovs; six furlongs—l Pukeko 9.5 (Atkins) 1, 4 Zeta 5.3 2, 3 Imasurvey 7.11 3. Won by half a length; two lengths between second and third. Time, 1.17 1-5. WANGANUI SCRATCHING.

WANGANUI, May 13. Acceptable was scratched for all engagements at Wanganui at 9.30 a.m. APPEAL REFERRED BACK TO CLUB. AUCKLAND, May 13. An appeal by G. Hodgson, of Auckland, owner of Thespis, against the decision of the judicial committee of the Avondale Jockey Club in awarding first prize money of £l3O in the Hobsonville Hurdles to Valpai, owned by' L. Hodgson, of Hamilton, was heard by the Auckland district committee. Thespis ran second to Valpai. A protest against Valpai on the ground that his rider, Mr J. Muir, had infringed the conditions of his gentleman rider's license by engaging in the training of horses, including; Valpai, was dismissed by the judicial committee of the club.

After hearing evidence, the district committee decided to refer the matter back to the Avondale Jockey Club for further inquiry.
