DULL CONDITIONS TO-DAY. i After a frost of three degrees intensity this morning, conditions were dull and cold to-day, the sky being overcast from early morning. One point of ram fell last evening. The barometric pressure this morning was 29.99 inches, and extremes of temperatures yesterday and last night were 49 degrees" and 32.8 degrees.
TO-DAY'S FORECAST. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This !Day. The Government Meteorologist, > at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— General inference: An intense anticyclone is still centred to the southeast of New Zealand, and pressure has risen slightly over the Dominion. It is still low over the Tasman, and a fresh depression appears to be developing south-west of Norfolk Island. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaui is as follows:- , Moderate but freshening northeasterly to northerly winds. Weather fair to cloudy and mild. Seas smooth to moderate. >'*<
