BRITISH HARDCOURT TOURNEY. STEDMAN AND MALFROY TO PLAY (Received This Day, 12.10 p.m.) LONDON, April 28. Two members of the New Zealand Davis Cup team, A. C. Stedman and C. E. Malfroy, will play in the British hardcourt championships at Bournemouth, when F. J. Perry will make his first serious appearance since his return from the United States. PROFESSIONAL TITLE. (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. J. Willard defeated J. O. Andersen in the final of the professional tennis singles championship of Australia, 8-6, 6-3, 6-3.
MONTE CARLO TOURNAMENT. (Received This Dav. 12.10 p.m.) MONTE CARLO, April 28. The lawn tennis tournament was continued to-day. Results : Men’s Doubles —Semi-finals: Hines (Britain) and Oulley defeated J. H. Crawford and V. McGrath (Australia), 7-5, 7-4. 4 _ H. C. Hopman (Australia) and Bernard (France) defeated A. Quist and D. P. Turnbull (Australia), 3-6, 6-4, 6^3. Mixed Doubles —Semi-final: Hines and Mile. Belliard defeated Turnbull and Madame Adamoff, 6-3, 6-4. Women’s Singles—Final: Madame Mathieu (France) defeated Senorita d’Alvarez (Spain), 6-4, 6-1. Macomber Cup, under 23 years — Final: A. Quist defeated V. McGrath, 6-3, 6-1, 6-0.
