PERRY RETURNS HOME.
SUPPORT OF BRITISH AMATEURS
(United Press Association —Copyright.) (Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) LONDON, April 26. F. J. Perry, on the Berengaria, received a radiogram from the Tennis Association urging him not to talk. Perry declared,.- after his arrival in England: "I alone know why I turned down the professional offers, which cannot yet be divulged. I owe all my loyalty to the association. I am offering it my whole-hearted support to keep Britain on top of the tennis world."
Perry declined to say whether he was still engaged to be married to Miss Mary Lawson, the actress. He announced that he would- partner Miss Dorothy Round in the tournament at Wimbledon, contesting the combined title.
MONTE CARLO TOURNAMENT AUSTRALIANS' SUCCESSES. (Received This Day, 2.10 p.m.) MONTE CARLO, Aprils. Results in the Monte Carlo tennis championship tournament were: — Men's Singles—Second round: J. H. Crawford (Australia) defeated Guillemot, 6-3, 6-0; J. B. Turnbull (Australia) defeated Janmin, 7-5, 6-2; H. C Hop man defeated Destre% meau, 6-0, 5-7, 8-6, Third round: Crawford defeated Feret, 9-7, 6-4; V. McGratb (Australia) defeated Petra, 6-3, 6-2; A. Quist (Australia) defeated ]|lercier, 7-5, 6-4; D. P. Turnbull defeated Marcel* Bernard, 6-4, 6-2.
