UNFORTUNATE DELAY
MISS BATTEN AT MARSEILLES. TYRE AND MAGNETO TROUBLE. BAD WEATHER ON ROUTE. (United Press Association — (Received This Day, 9.15 a.m.) PARIS, April 26. Miss Jean Batten was delayed at Marseilles by a punctured tyre when about to take off. In the meanwhile reports of bad weather arrived. She declared she was most disappointed. She intended to fly to Lyons, hoping to reach Paris to-night, but magneto trouble then developed, and as a result Miss Batten is not likely to start before to-morrow.
