SPORTS ATTRACTIONS.
FIXTURES FOR TO-MORROW. Followers of winter games will find much to interest them in the sports fixtures arranged in Ashburton tomorrow. Football will begin in real earnest after the holiday last Saturday, and
matches in the three grades of the Ashburton Rugby Union's competitions will be played both in town and in the country centres. The senior match at the Showgrounds will see Allenton and Technical Old Boys meet, while Methven will play Rakaia at Methven.
The Ashhurton Basketball Association's contests will be continued in the Domain,, where many spectators _ assemble each week to: see the bright play presented. A start will be made with the competitions of the Mid-Canterbury Men|s Hockey Sub-Association, which this year have attracted four senior and one junior teams, and those who take part in this sport will be keen to "get going." Only senior matches will be played to-morrow. The first round of the Presidents Trophy has .been set down for members of the Ashburton Golf Olub, and a match against Harewood will also he played in Ashburton during the weekend.
