CYCLISTS FINED.

MANY APPEAR IN COURT. RESULT OP INSPECTOR'S RAID. Following a raid made on a night in March by the Borough Inspector (Mr J. R. Richardson) a large number of cyclists who were accosted while riding cycles without lights appeared in the Ashburton Magistrate's Court this morning, before Mr W. H. Rundle, J.P., and Mr R. Kerr, J.P. Two police cases against cyclists who rode on a footpath were also brought up. The cases were as follow, the amounts of the fines and Court costs being given in parentheses:—

Riding on Footpath'. Nell Collins, at Tinwald (5s and 12s). Nils Robert Nordstrom, at Tinwald (5s and 12s). Vera. Breakwell, in Tancred Street (os and 12s). Riding Without Lights. Arnold Taylor, motor - cycle, in Havelock Street (10s and 12s). Vera Gertrude Anderson, in Havelock Street (os and lis).

Amy Burton, in Havelock Street (os and 10s). Francis B. Clark, in Short Street (5s and 12s), Albert S. Coker, in Short Street (5s and 10s). George Henry Harris Hartley, ill Havelock Street (5s and lis).

Lila K. Hunt, in Short Street (5s and 10s). Harold C. Hynam, in Short Street (5s and 10s). Jack A. Ireland, in Short Street (5s arid lis). Herbert Schluter, in East Street (5s and 10s).
